When to use MEDIATION
Mediation is most commonly thought of in Separation & Divorce cases and in Labour-Management Relations. Those are two good places to use mediation but there are many other situations where it may be just what is needed.

Mediation is appropriate any time difficult conversations need to be held, there is conflict that is breaking down communication, or two or more parties feel they need help to resolve matters.
In Separation & Divorce mediation can
Decrease the levels of hostility
Decrease the costs of arriving at a settlement
Work out an agreement that takes seriously the interests of both parties and the welfare of the couple and their children

In the Work Place mediation can
Deal with conflict that is impacting morale & efficiency
Help highly motivated and capable people work at peak levels
Deal with conflict in a way that engages the parties involved and harnesses their own motivation and relational ability

On the Farm mediation can
Help families work out succession plans
Help families hold difficult conversations
Help parents and children work together

In Business mediation can
Help partners work out plans and goals
Help resolve commercial and civil disputes without the financial and emotional costs of court
Help resolve Accounts Receivable matters

In the Community mediation can
Help neighbours work out issues that arrise when you live next door to each other
Help develop a sense of the richness of diversity rather than the chaos of differences
Help communities talk about issues that impact on the future and the atmosphere in the community

In the case of Criminal acts mediation can
Help hold the offender accountable
Make sure Victims get to participate and have their interests met
Restore what may be broken in community, personal lives & relationships

In Church mediation can
Help people talk about issues in ways that are sensitive to deeply held beliefs
Help congregations resolves differences
